Another U.S. spy satellite was dispatched into space Monday evening (April 26) on the mightiest rocket worked by the United Launch Alliance.The behemoth launched at 4:47 p.m. EST (2047 GMT) from Space Launch Complex 6 at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, conveying the ordered NROL-82 satellite into space for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
ULA, a 50-50 joint endeavor between Lockheed Martin and Boeing, has just four excess Delta IV Heavy rockets in its armada. Those are appointed to dispatch missions for the NRO, with two dispatches from California (counting the present mission) and the leftover two to dispatch from Florida.
