Consumers can collect ration items using their fingerprint
Great news for all consumers in the country. From now on you will be able to take ration items through finger print. If you have Aadhaar link with the ration card, you can collect ration items through E-POS (Electronic Point of Sale).
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs has issued a notification directing the Aadhaar card to be linked with all ration cards. Since then it has been known that everyone can take this benefit if there is a link between Aadhaar card and ration card.
The Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution reiterated that those who have not yet been linked to Aadhaar are not being deprived for the time being. They will also be given ration items as per the previous rules. The food department has requested to link the Aadhaar card with the ration card.
According to the 2011 edition, there are three types of ration cards. This mini card has reached more than 26 lakh people. Parts of the card are given-
1. Priority Household (PH).
2. Super Priority Household (SPHH).
3. Antyodaya Anna-Yojana (AAY).
According to the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, if this mini card is used in an E-POS machine, all the details will appear on the screen. There the ration material can be distributed by applying quantity.
Again, two types of ration cards have been provided under the state government. This card cannot be used on E-POS machine. Because there is no such arrangement in this card. However, more than 16 lakh people have benefited from this card.
And no one has to carry a ration card to collect the goods. Now all consumers can collect ration items using their fingerprint. Further work is underway to take this digital initiative forward under the Central Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Mass Distribution.
