* History of the Internet : 

When the Soviet Union launched the Sputnik-1 satellite into Earth orbit in 1957, the United States tried to get bogged down in science and technology. To that end, in 1958 the Federal Administration established a number of agencies. ARPA was one of these newly created agencies. 

ARPA was originally a Department of Defense computer science research project. The main goal of this project was to establish an easy medium for exchanging information between scientists and researchers. J.C.R. Leaklider was the director of ARPA at the time. The first version of the Internet, ARPANET, was born as a result of the efforts of this organization. 

From the beginning, ARPANET was seen as a part of success. In 1971, ARPANET aimed to bring universities and government research centers under one roof. 

Between 1974 and 1981, the idea of ​​ARPANET was gradually introduced to the public, to facilitate its commercialization. ARPANET, designed for military and research purposes, was transformed into the "Telnet" in 1974 by Beranek and Newman. In 1981, ARPANET's host number rose to 213. 

The word "Internet" was first used in 1982 The number of Internet hosts exceeded the milestone of 1000 in 1984 and 30000 in 1990.

In this way, it has gradually taken the form of "Internet" from "Appernet". At present, in 2021, no work is possible without the use of the Internet. 

* Who invented the Internet? 

The inventor of the Internet is Vinton Gray Cerf. He was the co-inventor of TCP / IP. He played an important role while working at DARPA. He also created an email platform called MCI Mail while working at MCI. 

* Number of Internet users : 

As of January 2021, the number of active Internet users in the world is currently 4.66 billion, which is 59.5% of the world's population. Of these, 4.32 billion people use the Internet through mobile. 

The benefits of the Internet :

The difficulty of the Internet : 

In addition to the benefits of the Internet, there are some disadvantages. Some of the disadvantages of the Internet are given below- 

1. Anyone can post anything on the internet, so the internet is filled with innumerable misinformation. 

2. As a result of internet addiction, many people are reluctant to spend time with their family and friends. 

3. Young people go astray due to the sophistication of the internet. 

4. There are many fake websites on the internet through which a large number of people are getting financially upset. 

5. Many people lose personal information or are exposed to the public by hackers. 

6. As a result of internet, people are thinking less, that is, before thinking, they search Google and find the solution. As a result, in many cases the brain is losing its ability. 

7. As a result of internet, people are spending most of their time on mobile or computer. As a result, problems with physical and mental well-being are increasing.
